American
Youth Football, is a non-intrusive, non-controlling organization, our
rules, exist in two independent structures.
First - You are free to play in
accordance with your own locally adopted and current governing rules, in
so long as your rules subscribe to the following governing principles.
1. Safety,
2. Sportsmanship and
3. Full Participation, (Everyone gets to play.)
Second - If your organization
plans to participate in AYF regional and national tournament competition,
your organization must play in accordance with AYF adopted rules. This is
only mandatory if you plan on playing in AYF inter-league competitions.
Chicagoland AYF is a
part of AMERICAN YOUTH
FOOTBALL, INC., established in 1996, is an
international youth football organization established to promote the
wholesome development of youth through their association with adult leaders
in the sport of American football. Rules and regulations are established to
ensure that players play in an atmosphere of safety with a competitive
balance between teams.
Each AYF league or football club is self-governing with freedom to elect its
own officials and oversee the enforcement of its own well-being as long as
it agrees to participate within the framework of the AYF basic tenets,
philosophy and regulations.
